When it comes to Transformers: Age of Extinction, if you love it or hate it there is no denying that it was a huge box office success bringing in over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.

While doing some interviews on the red carpet for Daddy’s Home event, Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he is indeed returning for Transformers 5. Does his return give us more or less hope in the new film?

At some point it was in the news that Michael Bay will not be the director for the next Transformers movie. But Michael Bay posted a comment on Twitter telling us that he will direct Transformers 5 but is not official (yet).

I sincerely believe that without Michael Bay being the director, Transformers won’t be your usually Transformers movie and I don’t really like Mark Wahlberg’s performance in Age of Extinction. I was used to see and hear Shia LaBeouf’s screaming with some robots on the big screen. From my perspective, changing Shia LaBeouf with Mark Wahlberg was one mistake. Let’s not make another one which would be to not have Michael Bay as the director.

For those who hate the Transformers movie you have to understand this: you don’t go into the theater to see Transformers for its story, you are going to see it because of all the special effects, battles and explosions.

Transformers 5 is set to be released in June or July of 2017. After this one we have Transformers 6 and 7 waiting to hit theaters (which was officially confirmed that Paramount Pictures will make 5, 6 and 7).
