Bulkhead Interactive from Great Britain has announced that their FPS multiplayer game Battalion 1944 has reached its goal of £100.000 on Kickstarter in just 3 days.
“£100.000 in under 3 days! We did it. Battalion 1944 is now confirmed to be fully in development for Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, bringing World War 2 into the next generation of video games! THANK YOU! To celebrate, we’ve made a video directly to everyone who has backed and supported Battalion 1944 so far. We’re a little emotional over the support as we’ve read as many of your videos, articles and comments as humanly possible for an independent team. There aren’t enough hours in the day to reply directly to the giant outpouring of support so this message is for every one of you who has helped us so far. Watch until the end!”
Battalion 1944 promises an online multiplayer experience like the early Call of Duty and Medal of Honor titles, stripping out “unbalanced unlocks” and “over-powered abilities” and focusing on fair, skill-based infantry combat. Authentic locations will include Carentan, Bastogne, and Sainte-Mère-Église. It’s being developed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Bulkhead Interactive previously worked on Pneuma: Breath of Life, the first Unreal Engine 4 title on consoles.
